How Can We Help You?

Our services.

  • Adolescents & Young Adults

Now more than ever teenagers and young adults are bombarded with numerous options and choices for present and future goals. It can feel overwhelming at times and frustrating when you are still trying to figure out who you are, and where you want to go. We help adolescents and young adults in navigating life’s challenges, identity formation, life transitions, and through developing coping skills.

  • Trauma

Trauma has become an overused word at times in our present culture, however, we can distinguish trauma through what are known as big T traumas and little t traumas. Examples of big T traumas include: living through a natural disaster, witnessing or being a victim of abuse, experiencing violence or assault, medical procedures, etc. Examples of little T traumas include: losing a pet, experiencing a breakup, being bullied, experiencing rejection, etc. Both types of traumas can have a lasting impact on the body and the mind, and we use mindfulness, narrative therapy, and a strengths-based approach to help you process your trauma experiences.

  • Anxiety

It is common to feel anxious at times, as most individuals experience anxiety when there is an upcoming test or exam, meeting new people, and taking on new challenges to potentially learn a new skill. However, when anxiety becomes hurtful is when we stop living life, or feel hesitant to try new things or explore our environments. We help individuals with anxiety through using mindfulness and DBT in sessions.

  • Depression

Depression can often feel like a cloud that never goes away or subsides. It can feel like an insurmountable weight that will never be lifted. At Collaborative Psychotherapy, we help individuals experiencing depression by utilizing a strengths-based approach, narrative therapy, and DBT.

  • Grief

Losing someone or something you love is hard. There is no way around it, however, we can help you in navigating your emotions and story surrounding grief through utilizing compassionate focused approach to help you process your story.

  • Life Transitions

Change can be hard. With change comes unexpected growth and uncomfortable emotions during the process. We help you to process life transitions through utilizing a compassionate approach as well as grief work, as sometimes unexpected change comes with experiencing grief.

  • Conflict

Humans are social creatures and oftentimes when it comes to engaging in relationships, conflict happens. We help individuals in navigating conflict through using a compassionate approach and Emotions Focused Therapy (EFT) to handle conflict well.

  • Couples Therapy

At Collaborative Psychotherapy, we help couples in navigating communication challenges, disagreements, grief and loss, as well as parenting issues and concerns through using the Gottman Method.
